An acronym for the Fair Political Practices Commission, a non-partisan agency primarily responsible for the fair application, interpretation, and enforcement of the Political Reform Act of California. It is, essentially, the statewide political watchdog. All committees and PACs, including clubs and campaign committees, who spend or receive more than $2,000 in a given year for partisan political purposes are required to register with the FPPC.
